This exam should follow the successful completion of the Level 1 Health And Safety In A Construction Environment (CSCS Green Card) course. You can purchase this exam along with the course, or come back to buy it once you have successfully completed the online course. Both elements provide the essential foundations for staying safe and implementing best practices when working on a construction site. Once both are completed, you will be able to apply for your CSCS Green Labourer Card.

There are four stages to this training.

  1. Complete the Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course
  2. Complete this online exam (desktop computer only)
  3. Book an online touch screen CITB Health, Safety and Environment test and a face-to-face authentication session
  4. Order a Green Labourer Card from CSCS

All training components and the Green Card application can be made through the CPS Training Centre.

Exam requirements

You must have successfully completed the Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course before taking this exam. To take the exam, you will need:

  • Desktop computer
  • Webcam
  • Speakers
  • Google Chrome Web Browser
  • Photo ID

How Long is the Green Card Valid?

Once a Green Card has been issued, it will be valid for five years.

You will need to apply for a new CSCS Green Card at the end of the five years. It is currently not possible to renew an existing card.

Training Fees

  • Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment £110 (plus VAT).
  • Exam £45 (plus VAT).
  • CSCS Green Labourer Card will cost £36.
